Weekend Stay In Jervis Bay

Jervis Bay is renowned for its crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, and native plants and wildlife. There are many different ways to experience the area for all that it has to offer. Here are a few suggestions.

Accommodation

In Jervis Bay, accommodation isn’t just somewhere to sleep. It can be an incredible, unique way to experience the area. The perfect example of this is a luxury campsite located just 4km from Huskisson, and completely surrounded by bushland. Paperbark Camp is a nature retreat amongst high-reaching eucalyptus and paperbark trees, boasting canvas accommodation inspired by African Safari Lodges.

If camping really isn’t for you, there are many amazing holiday rentals in the area to choose from. Not staying in the bush? Then you must be staying beachfront.

Food & Drinks

Take your taste buds on a trip to Southeast Asia, at Wildginger in Huskisson. With banquets, à la carte, 3 course meals and bar food, there’s something for everyone at any time of the day. Check out their menus here. It gets even better with their delicious range of cocktails. From experience, I have to recommend the Ginger’s Espresso Martini or the Beauty Sleep.

If Japanese cuisine is more your style, Kanpai Japanese Restaurant has a very innovative food and drinks menu. The chef, Yoshi Tanimo created the menu using both traditional Japanese and contemporary western flavours, aiming to surprise and delight you. If you’re worried about missing out on cocktails with this choice, no need. Kanpai also has a delicious range of cocktails, from which I would have to recommend the Salty Sumo or the Passionfruit Long Island.

Activities

Booderee National Park is a great place for a day trip in Jervis Bay. With some of the best beaches, botanic gardens and native wildlife, you definitely won’t be stuck for ideas of what to do. Some highlights include:

If you prefer getting out on the water, Jervis Bay has no shortage of water based activities and attractions. After all, it is one of the most unique marine ecosystems in the country. Jervis Bay Wild’s Dolphin Tour lets you explore the Jervis Bay ecosystem, getting up close and personal to the extremely playful and friendly Bottlenose Dolphin. Departing daily from 10:30am and 1pm, it is the perfect activity to fit into your day.

Jervis Bay is renowned for its crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, and native plants and wildlife. But the best part about the area is that there’s always something new to experience, leaving you wanting to come back again and again. Enjoy your stay in Jervis Bay!
