The museum sits immediately beside Hampden Bridge, and it is a village rather than a room. The buildings are put up to late 19th and early 20th century standards and stocked to match, and they include a dairy, a forge, a schoolhouse, a settler’s cottage, the Archie Chittick Museum and a war remembrance room.
The opening pattern is worth checking rather than assuming, because a Tuesday or a Thursday takes it off the list entirely. Its own site lists 10am to 4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, plus every day in NSW school holidays. Tuesday and Thursday are the days that catch people.
Entry was $10 for an adult, $5 for a child or senior and $20 for a family of two adults and three children when the site was checked on 9 August 2026, with under fives free.
