Collingwood Beach cycleway

The cycleway runs behind Collingwood Beach at Vincentia, between the houses and the dune, with the bay through the trees for most of its length.

It matters more than a path normally would, because it is the exception that makes the Vincentia dog rules confusing. Collingwood Beach itself is a dogs prohibited area. So is the land west of the cycleway. The cycleway is neither: the council lists it as an on-leash area, carved out of the prohibition on either side of it. Stay on the path with the dog on a lead and you are where you should be, and a few metres off it in either direction you are not.

The other reason to know about it is timing. Jervis Bay’s off-leash beaches are shut to loose dogs through the middle of the day, so between mid morning and mid afternoon this is the walk that is actually available.
