Berrara is a small beach settlement south of Sussex Inlet, on the edge of Conjola National Park. The reason to come is the Mermaid Pools, a set of clear rock pools along the coastal rock shelf, reached on foot from the beach.
The pools are tide and swell dependent and the rock platform is genuinely dangerous in big seas. Check the conditions and go on a low, calm tide.
