Dolphin and whale cruise from Huskisson

Jervis Bay Wild run the cruises out of Huskisson, every day of the year, across five boats. The dolphin cruise is an hour and a half and runs all year, because the bay holds a resident bottlenose population that never leaves. The whale cruise is two hours and only runs mid-May to mid-November, while the humpbacks are on the migration past the heads.

Two halves to the whale season, and they are different trips. May to August is the northern migration, which is the breaching and the tail slapping. September to November is the southern one, when mothers and calves come into the bay to rest, and that is the calmer half to pick if the children are small.

Their flagship Port Venture is the accessible vessel: level walk-on and wheel-on ramp, three wheelchair accessible toilets, pram access and an inside cabin to warm up in. Boats and departure times can change with the tide, so if access matters, confirm the vessel with them when you book.
