Things to do in Callala Beach

Callala Beach sits on the northern shore of Jervis Bay, opposite the Huskisson and Vincentia side. It is a small residential village rather than a tourist town, so there is no strip of cafes and no queue for parking, and the beach in front of it runs for kilometres.

Because it faces south across the bay, you are looking at Jervis Bay rather than standing on the famous edge of it. Beecroft Peninsula is on the horizon, the water is usually calmer than the ocean beaches south of Huskisson, and on a weekday out of season the sand is close to empty.

It is one of only four beaches around the bay with a council off-leash dog area, on the restricted hours that apply across the Shoalhaven.

Getting here from Huskisson takes longer than the map suggests, because the road goes back out towards the highway and in again rather than around the water.
